Big Cats
After ten years away from the canvas, the tiger became my way back. Its form arrived in my sketchbook first as memory, then as instinct, and finally as an anchor. From my first fierce painting to my last calm brushstroke, I began to see my own quiet transformation: from restlessness to awareness, from doubt to self-worth. Painting these tigers is not about representing the wild - it’s about reclaiming it, the wild inside me.

“Big Cats is not just about tigers, it is about presence. I didn’t set out to paint tigers. One sketch led to another, and before I knew it, the tiger kept returning - not as an idea, but as a presence. Sometimes fierce, sometimes calm, always unapologetically itself. The slow, repetitive patterns became my meditation.”

Mugdha Martin

A visual artist and cultural storyteller who divides her life between India and Germany, carrying both worlds within her.
A fine artist with a Bachelor’s degree in Painting, Mugdha has spent over a decade running a creative brand in India and six years hosting Visual Diary workshops across continents. Her mindful art experiences are woven with her belief that art is not just something you make, it’s something that heals.
A vegan and spiritual practitioner, she brings warmth and connection to her world through hosting thoughtful, plant-based dinners and everyday rituals that celebrate life and culture.
Her work is a celebration of heritage, mindfulness, and the quiet power of creativity.
